News Producing
I started my job as a morning news producer in August of 2024. I had already been working at Action News Now since 2022 as an assignment editor and video editor, but decided to take the leap and ask my news director for a promotion after I trained myself as a producer for several month. Over the course of my time I've produced through wildfires, elections, tech outages and other major stories and hardships. Here are some samples of my best work:
Nov. 2024 election
The day after the November 2024 election the morning show was the first to start reporting the results of the local, state and federal elections. At the end of the second show, we recap the top five stories of the day, these were the top five stories from that day, and showcases the work that went into the research behind each story.
Bidwell Mansion fire
On the morning of December 11, 2024, the historic Bidwell Mansion in Chico burned down. We turned our morning show into a two hours dedicated to covering the ongoing fire. We sent two reporters two the fire, had multiple bump shots, live headlines, live teases and dived into the history of the mansion.
Camp Fire 6 year anniversary
The Camp Fire burned now most of the Town of Paradise and other parts of the Ridge in 2018, displacing thousands, burning down so many homes and killing 85 people. At Action News Now, every year on November 8th we do a Camp Fire show edition and have specialized stories in the other shows, including this one.
